Products such as IBM Wave for z/VM clone existing Linux guests to create new ones. OpenStack technologies provision new guests using images from existing Linux guests to create new ones. What’s the difference, and when might one be more useful than the other? This presentation will provide a technical and procedural differential between the two methods, discuss the preparation requirements for each, and show comparative examples to help one assess which method is better suited for a particular situation.-Mike Bonett-IBM Corporation
