This session is the second session in a three-part series on Digital Certificates. This session is for z/OS personnel who want to understand how certificates get used by applications on z/OS.
Modern mainframe systems are connected to many other systems, and both Internet and internal connections increasingly use Transport Layer Security (TLS, the successor to SSL) to secure connections.
Understanding the basics of TLS setup and usage is thus a requirement. This session will cover why you need certificates of which type, how to configure certificates for applications, some techniques to aid in diagnosing certificate-related failures, and some changes in z/OS 2.3 that may make all of this information especially important!-Phil Smith-Micro Focus International
