This session will provide detailed diagnostic steps for determining the cause of some of the most common z/OS OpenSSH connection and performance problems.
Identifying the underlying issue behind OpenSSH failures can be a frustrating job: OpenSSH logs are notoriously difficult to read, and are laced with messages that look like errors but are actually benign. Furthermore, the messages closely related to the failure are often very easy to overlook.
In this session, the top z/OS OpenSSH problems are examined in detail, and the associated logs are analyzed to identify the problem.
In addition, selected log messages related to specific OpenSSH processing (key exchange, user authentication, subsystem requests, etc..) will be identified.
Attendees will leave this session with skills that will help identify the top OpenSSH issues and will be better equiped to handle other OpenSSH diagnostic questions.-Steve Goetze-Dovetailed Technologies, LLC; Kirk Wolf-Dovetailed Technologies, LLC
