Up to this point, clients had to have the z/OS operating system installed along with the skills to operate and manage z/OS in order to run GDPS. The new IBM GDPS Virtual Appliance extends GDPS capabilities into z/VM and Linux on IBM z Systems environments that do not have z/OS. The GDPS Appliance is designed to provide a simple and easy-to-use GDPS platform through the use of a new and intuitive graphical web interface for managing and controlling the environment. This session will provide an overview of the GDPS Virtual Appliance and how IBM z Systems clients without z/OS can get the benefit from this new GDPS solution.-Anthony Morales-IBM
