Live: Integrating Oracle Databases with NoSQL Databases on Linux for z Systems

A NoSQL database is many times used with a system of engagement, and provides a mechanism for storage and retrieval of data which is modeled differently from the tabular model used in relational databases like Oracle or DB2. Relational databases provide a time tested, successful way of storing and retrieving data used by applications running on systems of record, such as ERP, CRM etc. Linux on z Systems is an excellent choice for implementing both types of databases due to the availability and security characteristics of z Systems. In this topic we will explore the NoSQL database evolution and the availability of NoSQL databases on Linux for z Systems. We will also discuss how data can be integrated between relational and NoSQL databases. Specifically we will provide an example of how records stored in a relational database like Oracle can be replicated with a NoSQL database like MongoDB with both running on Linux on z Systems.-Sam Amsavelu-IBM Corporation
