With the creation of a Watson Assistant chat bot, we turned interacting with a zOS system into a conversation which allowed people without system programmer or SMP/E skills to do things such as query and install PTFs and APARs, issue zOS commands, IPL a z/OS system without accessing the HMC, even changing the IPL address if needed, and interact with a MySQL database and a Linux operating system. By using the Watson Assistant chat bot, we now also have the capability to perform these tasks remotely from a mobile device such as our phone.
