With the release of CICS based APPLICATIONs and PLATFORMs in CICS TS Version 5, the monitoring of the performance of these types of applications across the platforms will be increasingly important. This session will discuss the how the performance of these applications can be judged in different ways: • The performance of the entire application across the platform
• The performance of the application on individual regions
Understanding the aggregate performance of the application can be used to determine if the underlying platform is capable of handling the traffic while the performance of an application on a single region can be used to isolate performance problems. This session will also discuss using this data for ensuring a proper configuration and setting policy for the notification about, or termination of, tasks that are out of control and can damage system performance.-Billy Bigelow-BMC Software
