The 4.4 release of PL/I for z/OS was the 15th new release of PL/I in the last 15 years. This talk will describe the many new features and improvements in the release, including better performance, improved SQL support, easier XML handling, base 64 support, radical new language to support sparse arrays, and the satisfaction of many recent user requirements.-Peter Elderon-IBM Corporation
