SMS-managed Manual Tape Libraries (MTLs) provide a means to control allocation and device selection for tape-on-disk systems, virtual tape systems, and traditional standalone tape drives. This session will discuss how to set up and use MTLs, from the OAM address space and HCD and SYS1.PARMLIB requirements to defining and using the required tape VOLCATs, SMS constructs and coding of the ACS routines.
