Db2 for z/OS gathers and uses metadata, or data statistics, to help manage the system and applications. This presentation will give an overview of the stats used by the optimizer to determine access paths, and it will also cover the space stats used to help schedule running the REORG, COPY, and RUNSTATS utilities.
