Understanding locking in IMS is one of the key ways to avoid many performance problems and to address those that may occur.  This session provides a review of IMS locking with both Program Isolation (PI) and IRLM.  This will be followed by advice for avoiding locking problems.  Finally, it provides examples of diagnostic information about locking and shows how these sources may be used to solve locking problems.
