z/OS Basics: Designing a Native Sysplex Application to Exploit a CF List Structure

At the previous SHARE conference, we gave an overview of the base sysplex componentry and what it takes to design a sysplex application that is available, scalable, and resilient. In this session, we take a deeper dive into one of those components: the coupling facility list structure. We will explore the nature of the list structure, its capabilities, and the relevant interfaces. What might you do with a shared set of list entries that could be manipulated from anywhere in the sysplex? We'll look at some of the design decisions made for a well known list structure exploiter to motivate the discussion of things you'll need to consider.
